Any idea what/where this is. I imagine it's on the top of the fuel tank where the wires go into it... is it one of the small screws?

I am hoping to remove the fuel gauge on boat so will need to run wire to plus terminal to connect to fuel flow sensor for accurate tank levels and fuel usage.

This is my 07, are you talking about the sending unit wires?

Yes. It just says connect to the +(positive) terminal. I am assuming that was ok top of sending unit. They talking about tapping into positive wire where it leaves tank?

Can you tell us more about what you are connecting? Sounds like a flow gauge. No reason these taps could not be made on the engine compartment and dash. There is very little room under the tank cover, and it's not trivial to get the floor up.

Best of luck.

I have hatch on my sx230 so just have to open.

It is the garmin gfs10 fuel flow sensor. I've installed the flow sensor into fuel line already.

I am trying to hook wire up to the current sensor in tank so I can have fuel reading display on my chart plotter. I was hoping to be able to connect near helm but with wire changing colors not sure what is what to tap into.

If you can wait for the weekend I may be able to help. I have an after market gauge connected from the helm.I can get some pictures.

Also, I think I determined from shop manual. Need to look there too.

Purple+
pink sensor
Black-

On the gauge side, not sure about colors on the main harness, but you can eye ball it once you are peeking behind the dash.

If I recall, your hatch is hinged? I would make your connection outside the fuel compartment to maintain the ignition protection. Glad they changed color. In the photo I posted red and black are + and - for the sending unit. white is the signal wire. And do not match USCG or ABYC wire color code standards. Per standards, pink is the signal wire, purple is + and black is -, at the helm area. As @Beachbummer posted above. Started typing this responce earlier, but had to leave.

not sure if this helps, it's from 2005,

04/05/06 had small access panel for the fuel sender,, 07/08/09 you have to pull the whole floor,

In theory it tells me to connect brown wire to the + terminal. O could connect to purple wire behind helm and am connecting correctly? Am I understanding right?

@Wisefam22 did you ever get the sensors installed? Are they working correctly putting them right from the fuel pumps? Thanks

I attached them to the lines at helm... they didnt report fuel level properly but I've learned how to set the amount of fuel on board and the flow sensors have been accurate to within .1th gallon when filling up.

I set my tank full to 45gallons on plotter so I have a 5gallon reserve basically.
