It appears my Garmin GPSMap 440s screen is burnt. I can post pics this weekend, but has anyone else experienced LCD sun/heat burn? I read something on THT about bad polarization film and that removing it fixed the problem. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try because if that doesn't work I'll have to replace the screen anyway.

Anyone replaced an LCD screen in a Garmin? At $100 for a screen it has to be cheaper than sending it to Garmin... and I don't think the wife is in the mood for the expense of a new GPS after all the money I have spend on the overhaul so far.
