Just pulled the trigger on a gift for my wife. She/we are gearing up for ice fishing now, she wants to catch fish. Jigging rods, jaw jackers, 8" auger, tip ups, sled, shelter, safety gear etc. I know there are better scrolling screen and flasher units out there for ice fishing, but this unit will serve another purpose during Summer. I plan to use this while dinghy fishing on our Zodiac AL RIB, with a different transducer purchased later, mounted to the transom. Ice fishing first as soon as we get enough ice. Wait, who did I buy it for? I did not want to break open the piggy bank for this. Found it for $50 less than the big stores here, in Maine... GARMIN STRIKER VIVID 5CV FISH FINDER ICE FISHING BUNDLE Will follow up with a review/videos once we get out on the ice.
