Just went and picked up my boat from our rack and launch to get some speakers installed. When I pulled the boat out of the water i immediately noticed this gouge on my boat. It was not there last year when put up. Calling the marina this morning to see how they want to handle this. Any ideas on cost for something like this?

Jeez, that looks ugly. Sorry this happened.

Haven’t had to deal with this situation but I would start with saying to the marina that you hold them 100% responsible. And I’d also be asking them why they didn’t have the courtesy to let you know about this. There’s no way they could not have known.

Good luck.

I have no experience with marinas, so I don't have any input with that. Gelcoat and fiberglass I have some experience. Are you saying the boat has been sitting in the water like that? Its difficult to see in the picture, did the gouge penetrate the fiberglass? Was there any water entering the boat? Does the fiberglass feel mushy at all? If the answer to those questions is no, then the repair is pretty simple with just a gel coat paste. If any of those answers is yes, it could be a different story.
