Has anyone tried a trailer crossbar keel pad?

I must have kissed my crossbar at last recovery as I had a minor black scuff on my keel's leading edge.
Easily removed the scuff with a Magic Eraser...but concerns me that it could have been much worse.

Anyone tried something like this? There are a number of size options. My rig is at storage, so couldn't check. Looks like very inexpensive insurance. Thoughts?

@GTBRMC , I took a two inch length of gelcoat off the 230 when I launched on a ramp that was pretty flat. So I installed a 1/2" thick x 12" long piece of HDPE on the crossmember and got the scuff fixed. My new 240 shorelandr has a scuff pad as standard equipment on it.

@GTBRMC . first year I had the boat I unloaded a little shallow and felt the bump.. I quickly bought a cross bar pad and installed it.. Very cheap insurance..

I had it on my last boat trailer. I guess I should install on the 232's trailer
