Yamaha states the boat is 125" on a trailer. My boat is about 4-5 inches higher and will not fit in my garage by about 2 inches. Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Same issue I have, I ended up taking the top half of the tower off for the winter. I may opt to just take the top of the frame/canopy off next time. Top half removal is easiest/safest with 3 or 4 people to avoid scufs or scratches but can be done carefully with 2 as its a bit heavier than it looks. I used 2 sections of foam water pipe insulation taped to the flat base to protect for surface contact. I'm docked for the season and garaged for the winter so this is only a once a year issue for me but i do have a railroad drawbridge to deal with on every outing. I wish I could come up with a solution for a simple yet extremely sturdy hinge addition. I've studied and measured the T-top and can only conclude that to minimize overhead clearance issues the solution has to be 2 hinged points - The first being between the top and bottom halves of the T-top frame forward hinged -The second being between top half of the frame and canopy rear hinged to untimely lay the canopy flat and forward into the bow area.

thanks for the feedback! I dont store the boat in this spot. It is more a a great load in / load out spot that cant be used. Did you also notice the Yamaha specs don't match? what about low profile rims or cutting an inch off the rocket launchers. I don't like either solution. The hinge idea is a great idea but you would need someone that is really good with aluminum and guessing it wont be cheap

Thanks!

Doug

If you want to get it in the garage just let some air out of the tires , back it in and air them back up.( put a note on the trailer tongue reminding yourself of this so you don't tear off the top pulling it out)

good idea. thank you

Yes, I've noticed that the Yamaha specs are off by 1.5" but my overhead door is 125" and the framed opening is 123" so I could stand to gain 4+ inches for comfort, also would like to add radar to my Go9 adding to the issue. I thought about adding rollers to the trailer/removing wheels once started into the garage but thought it to be more of a P.I.T.A. My perfect scenario would a way to fold the tower for a bridge/garage solution and would be very happy if I could do it for $1k-ish. I looked at several after market folding T-tops but all looked like a shake and rattle poorly constructed option and really hate to have a Bimini. - Jerry
