So I just finished adding a deep cycle battery and changed the one battery switch I had to a two battery switch. Blower, horn and radio work when I tested 1 (starter battery) by itself but didn’t work when I tested 2 (deep cycle) by itself. Did I hook something up wrong? I also installed a two bank charger. Thanks in advance

can you post your schematic?
are the blower, horn and radio connected to both sides or only 1 battery?

here's my schematic for reference. this is not very different from any of the schematics in the dual battery threads. note that in my schematic there are 2 always hot circuits. one is the bilge the other (seems to be) the housekeeping circuit for the radio. they are connected to the port side battery
at the switch. I also went with a single circuit switch since i don't have dual engine and didn't need dual circuit switch.

I have a more complete write up and pics, but i'm not ready to post it just yet.

Did you wire the -DC terminals on the batteries together?
yes until my ground lug arrives and I get it installed. everything seems to work with the switch in any position

I believe I found the problem. The new dc battery came with the wrong size terminal nut so it wasn’t making a proper connection. I knew it was the wrong size and was going to pick up the correct size but I figured it was still making a connection with the post. When I hooked up the dual bank charger it was showing an error with battery 2. Thanks so much for the replies.

I realized that I skipped a step and did not connect the two negative terminals together. Everything works correctly now. Thanks for the replies.
