@help. Replacing steering cable removed rear nut but now what?

So, things are stuck! I have limited daylight left.

I got the nut out on the outside? I see some silicone but no rear nut behind in my 08 sx230

What am I missing????

Does not pull from inside that I can tell.

It is not lots of silone holding it in place?

I believe I used a hammer to motivate those into the hull.

It is just silicone as @Bruce indicated. Wack it with a hammer a few times.

Thanks, I ran out of daylight today, it will be next time, but I'll bring the heat gun and a good hammer to persuade it.

Put a few sockets together into the cable to build an extension and hit it with a mallet. See picture

So, today I finally persuaded the cables to move.

For the first one I drilled into, cut and snapped the cable while drilling, and finally had just right to wack it with a heavy hammer and it gave way.

For the second, I used a 4ft long pipe that fit over the cable but was still small enough to engage the flat washer, which I moved ahead of the nut, after I backed it out quite a bit. After several wacks of my heavy hammer, and the washers turning concave, so needed to be flipped a few times, still no dice...

I found an old 15lbs Navy Anchor, which I proceeded to use as a hammer to persuade the cable to move, After 6 wacks the other cable ALSO gave way!!!!
