Hey everyone I'm new to this site I just picked up a 195 ho impulse, needless to say I'm thrilled with the boat after taking it on the water and am looking forward to many fun boating trips. Now on to my issue.. I was deriding the boat and noticed 3 screws loose under the hull that hold the jet grate up, did the dealer really over look this? Or did come loose in the water since they're not sealed up with anything? Thanks in advance for any info

What the heck are these dealers doing!!! Its becoming a crisis.

@ArthurH Welcome to the site! Yea those bolts shouldn't have come out like that. You are lucky you found them, and the grate wasn't lost or ingested.

Screw them back in. Not sure about sealing them with silicone, but I guess it wouldn't hurt.

Welcome @ArthurH and congrats on the new boat. There's been a few boats that had cavitation issues, so I wonder if they pulled the grate off to inspect the silicone sealant in that area and forgot to retighten them. Anyway, it might not hurt to put some medium lock tight on those bolts to make sure they stay in there.

Honestly, I would pull them out completely and check to make sure they re-siliconed the grill in place properly. Pull all the bolts and give it a couple of firm tugs. It should not pull away without force/removal of the silicone. Once confirmed reinstall all the grate bolts.

p.s. Welcome aboard.

agree with @itsdgm Merc used medium[blue] loctite on the sportjets couldn't hurt on the Rotax
