High output ECU in a non HO boat?

Hello,

I have found two good used ECU's for my 2005 sx230 the main letters 6B5-10 match
But the last 4 of the smaller letters below the main ones do not, the ebay seller informed me that this is not a problem and that his HO ECU's will work in my boat.

Wondering if you guys have any thoughts?

Only thought I have (having no experience with ECU replacement) is how much he wants for them... If it is cheap enough to take the risk, basically.

Happy fourth of July

So I purchased two for 700 each, sent him an overnight shipping label. Got them here yesterday morning, installed them then took the boat out for a test ride at my lake. Sounds great and revved up to 9k rpm easy while on the trailer with the water hoses attached. So I think everything is sorted out, going to take the boat on the Hudson today for the first time for the NYC firework show

Good information knowing that the HO ECUs can be used in a non HO boat, let us know how the water test goes.

So far so good, the engines sound alot smoother and start right up like how they did before, no stalling. Also they rev a bit higher while on the trailer to 9500+ before they would only go to 9000, I haven't gone full throttle yet

I'll post an update as I'm about to make a 50 miles round trip journey to the Hudson and back

Update: DONT USE HIGH OUT PUT ECU'S IN A NON HO BOAT.

Blew up 5 out of 8 spark plugs, could have blown both engines

Different displacement, and ignition timing af ratios are all different. Don't. Do. It.
