House issues

Also the weird thing is you can only notice it at night with the light off in the room. In the daytime or when the ceiling fan light is on absolutely cannot tell. It's definitely new though, the house was built in 2006 still waiting to hear back from insurance to check out my roof and what not

Warm/cold air supplies running in the cathedral ceilings is also strange. I wonder what the roof looks like over that area, especially after a little bit of snow starts to build up?

Good question I have never looked. We did have a substantial amount of snow a few months ago that stayed on the roof for a few weeks cause it never warmed up outside

Picture of same area in the daylight today

@Crob83 Some questions: How old is house?; Is affected area an addition or part of original building?

On the bright side the market is so fucking crazy it appraised for 285K ????

Yea it’s crazy market right now! It’s good for the seller but absolute shit for the buyer. Wife and I have been stashing money away all last year and this year every paycheck so that we have a nice down payment and associated funds for a new/larger home. I could sell mine in a few days and get crazy money but I’d be out with no roof over my head and no inventory of homes on the market to buy. As soon as one pops up 15 people have already pounced on it, leaving all but the most crappy homes to choose from. Can’t buy land and build a new home either as raw materials costs are astronomical it s not even worth it to build. Ugh it is hard right now when we've had money ready to go but nothing to spend it on :(

Ya went to look at a few houses with my bro in law and one of them he was the 54th person to look at the house that day....lol. I was gonna sell and move back to the Southside of Indy(live on Northside now) and just rent until the market crashes. But decided against since there are 2 lakes within 15 minutes of my house (both only 2500 acres but good for a quick trip when u don't want to travel an hour plus to a bigger lake). Plus my old neighbor has a million dollar lake house with an infinity pool with 4 docks which made the decision a little easier

Be patient, there’s no way it can stay like this forever.
The most run down house on our street just listed for sale last Wednesday and sold already for 25% more than my remodeled and larger house appraised at last year. The people didn’t even bothering cleaning it up or picking up the yard to list it. It’s nuts.

Yea that’s all we can do it be patient. I won’t settle for a house like I did on our first home now that we know what we want and don’t want. What’s frustrating is I have completed several projects on the home to tidy up loose ends or make things nicer for when it comes time to sell (remodel bathroom, stainless appliances, recently had a new roof put on a year ago, all new HVAC and gas furnace etc and yes I know I’ll get my money back out on the up sell but I just hope the market settles down a little before the crash so I don’t lose all my upgrade investments lol.

Whats worse than the housing market is no ammo. Just went to three stores, nothing. Federal ammo CEO says they have back orders for a year totally over 1 billion.

Just an update. The insurance company inspected the roof (as did I) and it is perfect condition. They were also perplexed by the dent in the wall, and said there only explanation it was caused by ice damning. So I'm not going to worry about it unless it gets worse at this point
