How do you clean the fabric part of your Yamaha jetboat seats?

I'm noticing some dirtiness in the silver fabric part of the seats on my 2013 Yamaha 212X. What is the best way to clean these areas? I can see some stain/spots in the fabric but not sure how to clean these effectively.

I would start easy and go with a degreaser like simple green diluted to recommended volume and agitate with a medium stiff brush lightly. Hose it off well and apply 303 vinyl protectant afterwards.

I recently tried the 303 cleaner and it hasn't worked as well as I had hoped. I may keep trying and scrubbing. I'd be open to other cleaning suggestions as well.

I use some WestMarine stuff. Works great on stains. Anything that does not come off right away, I let stain remover sit for a bit and hit it with magic eraser at the same time.

I clean with dawn dish soap in water and then coat with 303 aerospace protectant when clean. It has worked well so far.

Have not tried that stuff before but a cheap degreaser has always worked well in the past.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and either Simple Green or 409, spray, scrub with magic eraser, spray again and wipe off with a rag or micro fiber towel. I have taken upholstery that looks like crap and made it look brand new again. Then apply some protectant of your liking to the upholstery.

I'm still new to boating and learning. But so far I've been using a Mr. Clean magic eraser, and then I spray and wipe with a towel this stuff

I do that for pretty much any surface in the boat, except the fiberglass. The fiberglass I clean and then use the Star Brite polish with PTEF

Mr clean magic erasers are useful, but they are an abrasive and work like a super fine sandpaper... I wouldn't go crazy with them unless needed.

My wife wants to try Dawn dish soap with toothbrush. If that don't work I think I'll try the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and I do already have the 303 Aerospace Protectant. I'll try to take some before and after photos when my wife and I get to this later this week. Thank you everyone for your inputs.

Magic erasers won't do anything to dirt that is trapped in the mesh-like fabric, hence the need for a brush and mild cleaner. Dawn will probably work but might foam excessively unless you dilute it in a bunch of water. Good luck!

Thanks @Murf'n'surf . I'm not sure if any dirt is in there but I think some of it may be residual from Yamaha brand cleaner/protector I was using last year which I got from the original owner. We also spayed 303 Aerospace Protectant so some of that may be residual from that as well. So we may need to go through layers of residual before it gets completely cleaned. Some parts are much worse than other areas too. So I think stuff we were using to keep it clean last year may be what got trapped in there.

It broke down all residual that were embedded in the fabric portion of the seats. It was hard work clean all the seats but now they look almost new. Applied 303 Aerospace Protectant right away in hope to keep it clean.

Not sure if these pictures show much but here are some before and after photos. I think I clean the surface one more time with Mr. Clean Extra Power with Oil Eater Cleaner Degreaser after I took the photo to make it ever cleaner.

So to summarize combination of the Mr. Clean with Cleaner/Degreaser is what did the trick to get the fabric part of seats looking almost new.

You're welcome, I still need to use the Magic Erasers on our new to us boat to make the upholstery look new again. Been to damn hot out lately.
