How does water in the ski locker drain?

I took a big wave yesterday, got my daughter covered which was awesome. Anyway, the ski locker has about 1/2 gallon of water pooling in the middle, how does that drain?

I notice there is a plastic plug that is unscrewed, similar to the drain plug on under the transom. I am guessing leaving this plug open lets water drain through there, why would you ever want that plug closed?

I believe Yamaha suggets the drains be closed. Sorts like compartmentalizing the Titanic.

My drain plugs are out and they will stay that way.

I only put it in when I fill my bilge to test pumps as it will fill up with water as well.

It should drain towards the bilge pump. I have all my plugs open so any water can drain towards the bilge.

Sounds like you need to raise the height of your trailer tongue to get all of that water to drain back to the drain plug on the stern. If your boat is in the water you can use a cup to bail it out or a manual stick pump into a bucket.

Pull the drain plug and it'll drain into the engine compartment.

Take the plugs out. GO FAST. All the water will drain to the engine compartment where the bilge pump will take care of it

I wet slip my boat, I can see where loading it on the trailer would move the water back, maybe while driving the water will move to the rear, or I could bail it myself ugh....
