How much Salt Away do you use when flushing your engine/s?

I was reading on this Thread that someone was using salt away during a flush while in the water. Is that possible? can you Flush a jetboat while its in saltwater with a hose? Please explain? whats that called!!! I Need That!!!

Thanks
Tow valves. There are a few write ups in the FAQs.

I installed tow valve under the clean out tray. I used the Island Racing kit. Just cut the hose under the tray and insert the valves. It is a really easy job. The most difficult and longer part is to remove the silicone to be able to take out the clean out tray.

Awesome! Looking to do mine this weekend. Went to home Depot they didnt have any 5/8" valves. Do you have any pictures? and is it definitely 5/8"?

Thanks

I used the island racing kit which comes with the valves. Pretty sure you can create a DIY kit but i went the easy way with the kit pictures below.

I don't have pictures of the actual installation. It is pretty self explanatory. Once you have removed the tray you will see the inlet cooling lines. Just make sure you are cutting the right lines! (you can insert a stick through the hole in the hull and check in engine bay that you see the stick next to the line with the plastic Y).

Yes you certainly can. You need to install tow valves or use clamps to clamp off the saltwater intake to the engines.

I have done this for years while docked at a friends dock in salt water. By closing the tow valves (I call them bypass valves) you are closing off the saltwater cooling line to the engine and replacing, or bypassing it with a freshwater hose and SaltAway supply.

Thanks guys! I ordered the the kit from island racing Friday morning 6/5/20 using the email format. Payment hit my credit card on Monday June 8. But no email confirmation or shipping details yet.
I will take photos of the install and post it when I get it.

So I did my shut off valves almost 2 months ago. Here are some pictures. I went from the existing incoming hose, to the valve, to a newly added hose about a foot in length, back to the Y. The extra hose was needed because with the valve the existing hose became too long. I didn’t feel like going through the back where the drain plugs are, so opted with this. I got about 30 hours on this set up, no leaks plenty of water flow out of the side of the boat.
Let me know what y’all think

I have used clamping pliers and they do the trick
