I tried to do this last year and gave up. fast forward to today(70s) i brought the boat home to do some work on it and i was like, I should try to work on this again.
Currently have the old Thrust Vector and upgrading to the newer version with the lateral thruster.

I tried the slot method. NOPE. I also cut the head flat and tried to use a vise grip to turn and NOPE.

the KEY is to apply heat. Using a torch, go from the jet pump/nozzle and focus on the bolt area. and it comes off like butter. If it becomes hard to turn, apply more heat.

I am just happy that I was able to get these off to do some upgrades!

**This was 4 years of salt water usage**
