Well I figured I might as well track my progress of this boat as add the $907 trillion worth of upgrades that I have already identified I want to put on it.

For starters, here is my setup as of 4/26/2021:
2017 Yamaha AR240
  • 290 hours
  • Runs like a top
  • Does have 2 - 10" JBL Marine Stadium subwoofers installed underneath the starboard rear locker. Yes, they lay down some thick bass. Yes, you should get a set.
  • Other than that she's all stock.
I am currently towing with a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5.3L V8 and the 8-speed auto. Pulls the boat without a hitch (oh how punny).

Welp upgrade numero uno of this year. Wetsounds Stealth 10 with the amp built in.

Mounted it directly to the wake tower instead of using the clamps because the legs for the soundbar ended up being exactly the width of the crossbars in the wake tower.

I am putting together a video of the install and will post it at some point in the near future on the Tube.

Its been a minute since I have last posted here but I might as well update it!.

Update 5/11/2023

The Marine Mat Install for my AR240. Shoutout to Jet Boat Pilot for working with me over a month and half, 40+ emails, and several test cuts to get the Marine Mat dialed in perfectly.

Lessons Learned from the install:
  1. Spend the money and buy the right tools. The 3 items that made the biggest difference were: Blade attachment for an Oscillating Multi-Tool (Home Depot), Eraser wheel for a Drill (Autozone near the paint), and Acetone.
  2. Dont be afraid to use plenty of acetone. Using a good amount of acetone did a good job of removing the residue. Using a lot of acetone did a really good job of removing the residue.
  3. The oscillating blade will save your fingers. Let it do the work. Just be sure to lay as flat as possible along the hull of the boat, otherwise you will gouge it (luckily, I only nicked the boat in a few spots).
  4. When laying the new stuff, make sure to have at least 1 other person helping. Better to have 2 people to help in order to assist with eyeballing exactly where everything needs to be.
  5. Masking tape is your best friend here. I used it to temporarily hold the mats in place and to also frame where the mats edges were going to be at.
  6. Deploy the 1/3 peel method consistently. Peel off 1/3 of the mat backing and set it in place without applying pressure. Take a step back and make sure you like how the mat is lying. Apply pressure to the 1/3 of the mat, peel off the remaining backing, and then work pressure into the mat for proper adhesion (See pictures)
  7. Alignment of the mats are more important than alignment to the boats contours. There are portions where the mats are maybe 1/8" off in one direction. Trying to correct this by laying the neighboring mat in the opposite direction made the lines look terrible.
  8. Lastly...take your time. Especially on the big pieces. It took 3 of us 1 hour just to lay down the big Cockpit mat to make sure it was perfect.

Dude! I'm in love with that color of marine mat!! I'm eventually going to replace my seadek and have the same boat as you except I took off the red graphics because they were peeling. I may have to copy part of your design! Great job!!!

Feel free too! I still dont understand why I dont see more of the tri-color.

Also - My graphics are doing the same thing...have you looked into getting new vinyl decals for the side of the boat?

I have not looked into it yet but I've had mine off for over a year now and I miss them so I do want to put something else on the side even if it's just an AR240 logo.20210423_164842.jpg

Ahh I see. Well if you ever end up finding something for it, I'd love to see what you come up with because I might end up copying you.

If you like marine mat / seadek consider ordering impact graphics from JBP instead of decals.
