Pulled my starboard pump apart as it seemed more rattly at idle than the port side. Runs great, boat does ~47 mph. See photos - seems like the housing is scratched up but some folks on Facebook said it's totally fine. I didn't measure with a feeler gauge. Thoughts?

looks normal if you want to get rid of the rattle replace that section with the one that uses nylon liners I have excellent results with those and once you change it if you ever mess up a liner you can just replace it and not the entire pump liner section as is required now with the original one you can also get the replacement with the nylon from www.sbtontheweb.com Yamaha is now using them on the newer models as well.
