2016 AR240, probably around 100 hours. Was changing the oil today and found this. Port bearing is fine. Have never added grease. How bad is it (can I run on this for the moment)? And how difficult is the repair/replacement? I don’t recall seeing this last season before I put the boat away, and didn’t notice any unusual water in the bilge. Haven’t put it in the water yet this season.

Put it in the water and see if it leaks. Make sure you put it in the forward detent and then look. Mine looked way worse than yours and gushed water in when my wife barely gave it any throttle. Never had a grease leak though like you have. I replaced mine with the help of a friend, it took us 2 hours. Have to have a press handy to remove the shaft from the bad intermediate bearing housing and then putting it back into the new one.

This was my write up:

Agree. I need to see if the wet side is leaking, or if it’s just eh dry side seal. If dry side only, it probably still needs to be replaced, but not an emergency.
