All, just wanted to drop in and say 'Hi'

Purchased our first Yamaha AR195 last June and used it nearly every other weekend in the Greenville SC (Lake Hartwell mostly) area and the family loves it. We've upgraded from having a pair of the Yamaha Waverunners (VXs) since our family has grown and it's easier to manage the kids on the boat! For those who know the area, we tend to favor River Forks! Looking forward to getting to know back on the water this spring and meeting some fellow boaters!

Chris

Welcome Chris. There is a lot of great information here.

Nice, I’ll have to look that lake up. To local to me. It certainly not out of range.

Welcome Chris!

glad to have you on board, be sure to check out the FAQ at the top of the page for lots of great tips/DIY's

Welcome!

Welcome @chris325s hope to see you out on the water! We are usually on Keowee but also Jocassee and Hartwell. With days like yesterday (76 degrees) we are lucky we don’t have to wait for spring! Here was my last trip to Hartwell on December 17 (by Six and Twenty Creek). We even hit Keowee in January. I always have my eye out for a VX (2006-2011 or so). As the kids grow, it will be a nice complement to the boat.

Thank everyone...looking forward to getting back out there again.

@Seadeals - I used to take the waverunners out to Keowee, haven't taken the AR yet...but agree do love that there are nice warm days to break up winters. Spent 14 years in Florida so used to love going out on the water during December! The guy who bought my VX's is a buddy of mine, so hopefully I can buy them back in a few more years (when he get his boat he says lol).

We have had a bad run of weather lately. The last warm day when I thought about going out had 15+ winds. That is no fun. Now with all the rain, it’s a buzzkill; but at least the lakes will be full when we get a good one! I exercised the batteries with some good garage boating tonight. Beer, led lights and some epic tunes on the best sound system I have.

And the navigation lights.... dont forget those... for the garage night time navigation!

Long time lurker, first time poster. Saying hello from Grapevine, TX. Looking forward to learning from everyone as spring/summer arrives for our 1st full season with the boat.

Actually, I do recommend the nav lights! I swapped my bulbs for some LEDs a few years ago and was able to notice the starboard bulb was flickering a bit. You don't normally watch them on the water, so it was a good way to identify and fix an issue. I think I am going to add those cool replacement LED nav light assemblies since I am a little skeptical of the LED bulbs and don't think they are near as bright, which could be a problem.

@Seadeals lol I do that exact same thing when I get the boat out of storage, I'll sit there listening to tunes, drinking a beer, waiting to get going (usually the next morning). Pic looks really cool...
