Is it possible to bucket flush engines when no hose spout present?

Yes but just pointing out that he didn’t do that in the video so don’t follow his exact steps.

If you want to flush then tow the boat to somewhere with a hose after you take it out of the water. But really, flushing is not necessary if you are running in fresh water. Only if running in salt or brackish water. In that case too you'll want the hose to spray off the entire pump area and outside of the boat. Tough to do with just a bucket of water.

It is, however, always a good idea to start the engines out of water and rev for a few seconds to blow water out of the water box. I do 15-20 seconds. Water in the waterbox is the biggest problem; when the boat is sitting for a long time, water vapors can make it back up into the head and tend to rust the exhaust valve stems, causing them to stick.

I used a 5 gallon winterization bucket and cheap fluid transfer pump. First step is to clamp a feeding hose from the jet drive so the fluid won't get away. Start the engine, open the valve, start the pump and it comes out of the pisser in few seconds.
