For anyone with cancelled units at The Sands I would highly encourage you to look into Resort World before considering cancelling your trip. The place is really nice and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Some will rent there slip out and while slips are a bit more then the sands, you can put 2 boats in some of them. Just check VRBO for an example.
Big Game is fine if you’re a small group of 4 or less, but those of us needing to accommodate more requires 2 rooms and at a a significantly higher cost.
FYI. I was getting 8.5 miles / gal gas pulling the sig270 back and forth from Dc to Ft Lauderdale on the F250. After a while I became numb to the gas bills
For those who can't make a Saturday crossing I would reach out to @Water Girl about a Sunday crossing. I would not cancel over this forecast I really hate to say this but this really is about the typical forecast for this trip.
So far still in 2B
So that’s good.
I’ll be in Saturday evening so I can’t pull off a Saturday crossing. But I can most likely do Sunday. Show of hands for a Sunday cross? My phone is 267-918-7873 if you have an interest text me. So far I have two other boats that are interested.
Does anyone have a better app to watch the Sunday weather?
@watergirl, @jaburt, the forecasts are constantly changing however Sunday's forecasts appear similar to 2015 & 2017 with bigger waves and up to 15 mph wind forecast. The wind is scheduled to turn a little northernly in the afternoon. If the wind switches to northernly you will be repeating 2015 & 2107 but perhaps in bigger water.
Based on current forecasts I highly recommend either moving up to Saturday or waiting for Tuesday.
