As a salty guy myself I would add that you should use a Salt-A-Way dispenser and solution to help break down salt and minerals inside your cooling passages. So even you fresh water lake guys can benefit from Salt-a-way because hard water deposits can build in your passages.

The key with this solution is to leave it inside the engine between uses. So, start your flush with straight water and END with dispensing the Salt-a-way solution into the engine for about 1 to 2 minutes or until you see the solution inside the bowl turn almost clear.

You gotta be careful of that tiny o-ring in the bowl lip. It gets lost or torn easily.

I 2nd the experience of the mixing unit being a PITA. It is plastic so I didn't want to tighten down on it a bunch and had it leak all over. Fortunately i put down a towel so it didn't stain the seat. So I put some force in tightening it and it worked, but I have a feeling I'm gonna shred that o-ring or crack some plastic with much use...

For those of you having the issue with the mixing unit, you could always buy the more sturdy ones that they use for lawn care. Just a thought.
