Hey Gents, I'm considering making a little change this year, and want to make sure I have the right stuff before I go ordering. I have been eye balling the JL 10" IB. Everything I have read seems pretty positive, and I am finally warming up to the idea of drilling a monster hole in the boat somewhere. Currently, I have a box I built and glassed sitting under the port bench. The sub is just a cheap polk 10", but it sounds good, and has served us well.

My frustration with the current setup is the box is using up all the space under that seat. Even worse yet, when the boat gets heavy use, lots of skiers and swimmers in and out, the carpet gets wet, then stays wet.

I'm still wrestling with where I would put the JL, so I would like your feedback on that for my 190/192 hull. I don't remember seeing it done, but wonder if anyone has mounted one in the wall below and forward the throttles? Otherwise It may end up somewhere in the rear horse shoe. If it will work here, how much will I dampen its performance with my legs when underway?sublocal.jpg

Finally, I want to be sure the Polk amp I have will sufficiently power the JL. I have liked the simplicity of the 5 channel amp so far, and its easy on my battery.

Here are the specs as POLK's website lists them:

Amplifier Specs - Power Specs 100W x 4, 400W x 1 RMS @ 2 ohms; 70W x 4, 200W x 1 RMS @ 4 ohms; 200W x 2 RMS bridged @ 4 ohms; 500W x 1 RMS @ 1 ohm (sub)

Im no audio guy, just trying to figure it out. I assume I can setup the amp to run 70w to my four speakers, and 200w to the sub at 4 ohms? Is the JL worth the money and bigazz hole in my boat?

Thanks for reading, look forward to feedback.
