Guys I’m going to start the install tomorrow in a 16 242 LS E Series. I am planning on removing the Polk amp and rewiring the new JL 650’s. My question is, the HU doesn’t seem to have RCA jacks to run to the new amp. I’m not an electrical wiz by no means, so how do I connect the new am to the HU? Looks like the Polk has a 4 pin mini din as the input from the HU to the amp. Any help would be appreciated.

Your head unit isn't behind the helm, it is actually under the port cabin seat. It still has rca connections going to your polk amp correct? If you are simply swapping out amps then I would just mount the JL amp where the polk amp was.

* EDIT *

Here is the head unit:

The RCA are behind the board.

Your right on the HU location, I am unfortunately out of town right now and am looking at the wiring diagram online and the HU doesn’t show RCA connections just a 4 pin connector that they run to the Polk amp.

You have to go to the tuner amp module. The 4 pin connection goes to the swim deck remote control.

Ok guys, got the amp all hooked up with JL MX650’s (6). Problem I have is the amp just powers down randomly, sometimes after 2-3 mins. I was just running off the house battery and the amp would cycle on and off (12.4 volts) i paralled the batteries and was better. It’s odd, thought maybe it was overheating but doesn’t seem possible since it wasn’t on very long and I wasn’t cranking it up. Any ideas?

Sorry, I got it figured out. Had to run the remote power wire as well.
