So, when you make a major purchase, register it with the manufacturer ASAP! Came home to find my Yamaha audio video receiver DOA today... called tech support and I had a rep on the phone in 30 seconds. Long story short, they will have me repaired in less than 20 days. Had I "knot" (trying to keep with the nautical theme here) registered it, there would have been a huge dealay to start the process.

So my emphasis (to the younglings/newbies/hardheaded) is this:

Register you stuff! ;)

I’ve had bad luck with Yamaha receivers, one stopped turning on and one developed a bad buzz.
Still own two though. I guess I’m loyal (and they used to always be cheap at Costco).
