just got my first boat

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCEEEE!!!!

Looks awesome!

I have a question. What's the distance between the road and the bottom of the trailer tongue? I want to make sure I take the correct drop with me when I pick my boat up.

Thanks -Mark

That depends @McMark , boat on the tongue or empty?

The top of my ball right now is 24"... We just eyeballed it though. I'm not sure if it was totally level or not. You have to account for any sag you might get too.

Looks great! @Z28Johnny Where are you taking it to break it in?

I have my drop turned up and run at 17.75 from the ground to the bottom of the hitch tongue not counting the ball nut. I do this because it tows better and keeps me from having to lift the boat to swivel the jack, due to a slight downhill approach into my barn.

My wife's Escalade auto-levels, so it's different for her truck than mine... but what I did with her truck was I measured from the ground to the trailer frame between the axles and made sure her hitch was about 1" above that.

For my truck, (Silverado) I put 45PSI in my air bags and use a 2" drop. That puts me 22" to the top of the ball (with a 2" drop hitch not including the ball) before I add the boat+trailer. After I add the trailer it puts me to 18.5" to the bottom of the hitch and on perfectly level ground the trailer rides perfectly level.

@Z28Johnny , welcome and congratulations. It doesn't get any nicer than that. Top of the line AR240, black on black truck, and snow covered mountains. Look forward to hearing how much you love the boat. You have some lucky friends for sure

Oops. I didn't mean to hijack. Thanks for the replys though. :)

@sysinu instead of utah lake I think we are doing yuma lake...

Congrats. Great looking setup.

Be careful of Yuba, it's super low (40% full). I wish I could join you :-), but I just can't bring myself to take the shrinkwrap off my boat. Have fun and be safe! enjoy those low RPM's during the breakin period. 2 hours into it and you'll be ready to scratch the go-fast itch!
