kicker sound system wiring diagram? looking to improve. my step by step upgrade

It's a either a dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm sub dual 1 ohm. I'll have to pull it out to tell. I can do that this afternoon. That amp isnt marine grade, that'd be my only gripe; though at it's cost you could replace one every other year and do that for several years and not be out of pocket as much as some name brand marine grade amps are. If keeping the 1 original sub with no upgrades or additions I would probably use this amp in my setup. Rockville DBM25 1400 Watt 2 Channel Marine/Boat Amplifier Amp w/Silicone Covers

perfect. I will just order that. might need some help on wireing that up. what gauge of power wire would you use, 4 or 8?

perfect, i dont know crap really about this stuff...i thought i would need to run two different things. so i went with that amp you said and when with that kit. Do you think i can get away with using the speacker wire thats already ran?

Ok guys! My stuff came in. Had to change it up a bit. Now going with two jbl amps for the 8 speackers and a rockville for the sub. Now for some questions this kit i have looks like it will only wire two amps but the ground block looks like it will take 4 grounds. Am I ok to ground all 3 amps to that and just run another power wire for the rockville amp? Just going to run the jbl 's together

also would you wire the rockville amp with 4 ga or 8?
Figure the max amperage you will draw and how long the wire will be. Then you can use this chart to determine the gauge size needed. If in doubt, go larger (smaller number) guage.

Was just reading the book ...looks like 8 will work fir anything less than 20ft .....might just go to 4 though

would you run new wires to the speackers from the amp? or would you just use the ones that are in the boat?

Ok so doing some work here. As you can see what the speaker wire looks like from the speaker. When it gets to the amp its a plug and play harness. The amp is a two ch am and it runs 4 speakers. If you look at the amp it as the two Channels and remote, power, ground, and the input(rca) from the medallion....my question is does anyone know where they are timing the speakers together in the boat before the get to the amp?

Ok so found some more answers. The speaker wire goes to a mini kicker box connector and comes out in wires. Looks like its best if I run new wires. Looks easy with my tape. Only question I have is what's the best way to access the tower wires?

Well I got a lot done. Ill post stuff later...looks like I need a different amp for the sub. Its a 1 ohm and I got a 2ohm amp

so got another question? see what people think. Im now running 3 amps on the boat (i know i need to get some pics up to help other people out). i have two batterys right now on the boat. Do you guys think i should install a 3rd? It makes me wonder if i do since brp stuff is every power sensitie.

I believe it's a Dual 2 ohm, you can wire that in a 4 ohm configuration. As far as batteries, I run 2 in my 255. I have an onboard charger that I use to top off when off the water.

Thanks for the help. Mine is actually 1ohm . So I just went safe. Thats the same as I do with my batteries.
