I couldn't get over 24 MPH with just me on the boat and a full load of fuel. Here is the bottom (and the reason)

The growth was spongy, I could press it, it was almost like AstroTurf. The clear spot is from trailering the boat, cleaned off a little for me.

I wet slip

Yikes. That will affect top end speed for sure.

@Michael Rasmussen are you trading or selling private if you don't mind me asking. I'm thinking of putting mine up for sale and curious the route you took. Thanks

@2nazt - I am going to see privately. I was offered 23k to trade my boat in, and the only reason it makes sense to trade my boat in is to save on sales tax. That would be around $1,800 of sales tax, so if I sell it for 24,800 or higher, I don't lose selling privately, other than dealing with people (test drives, haggling over price etc).

I'm going to keep it over the winter and sell it around march/april when I can at least take someone for a test drive.

@Michael Rasmussen - I live in MO and in my state you can get tax credit for a private sale, same as trade-in, as long as it occurs within 90 days of a new boat purchase.

@Michael Rasmussen In MO, you just bring the bill of sale to the DMV when you register the new boat. They do the math for your sales tax, so that you only pay tax on the difference. Sale must be within 90 days of new purchase.

Sorry to see that happen. Glad you found the reason it better than"all you need is a new fuel system" my old mechanics favorite phrase.
