Just curious what others thoughts were on this. I always put the bimini up every time I use the boat. On the 242 it wraps around the tower and can be a pita to do myself. I decided to leave it up. I figured it's the same materiel as the cover so the worst that can happen is that I get some fading over the years and I'll have to maybe clean some bird poop off it from time to time. I keep it at the marina on the trailer and would take it down before trailering.

Ideally I'd like to have some type of cover made that would easily slip over it while up in storage. But for now does anyone see any reason why this might be a bad idea?

I tow mine about 5 miles at 50 mph to storage now. I leave it up with no issues. It is a hassle to deploy...

I would do the same if mine was in a slip. We leave it up when we're on vacation and the boat's in the water all week. The birds dont seem interested but just in case you can put a plastic owl on your tow point. I've seen the owl thing a lot but never needed to try it myself.
