Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
Lake Okeechobee has been in the news the last couple of years for being very polluted. IMO there are literally hundreds of better options in Florida. I'm thinking of coming up to your backyard (Lake Marion/Moultrie) the weekend of 8/19 as it falls in the path of totality for the solar eclipse. I assume you've worn out this lake chain by now?
For both Lakes make sure you have good GPS maps or you will probably bounce off the bottom a number of times. I full agree with @robert843 that while you are there to make the run down through Pinopolis lock down the river to Charleston and back.
Very good information guys! I'll probably avoid them altogether. Shallow water is too nerve racking for me. I'll definitely check out Pinopolis though. We were looking at that stretch anyway
Well lake James appears it could be what I'm looking for a nice clear water lake not to far away. I'm going to explore that option more not much of a camper so I will have to see what the rental house options are.
