Popped the lid on the gas tank cover and this is laying in there .... I just removed it and probably tossing it in the trash. Have no idea what it’s for . These Yamaha boats outside of the motor are pretty amateur when it comes to build quality .

No Clue... I just double checked my 2019 210 FSH and there is nothing on top of the fuel tank. Might be scraps from the build and someone was to lazy to discard their trash....

That’s what I thought but it’s 25% larger than the portal and not only the the portal underside is like a waffle ... it looks like the glue was never compressed onto anything .
 
Idk mine didn’t come with one of those.
 
I might send an email to Yamaha that maybe you should’ve went under the gas tank to prevent rubbing on it.
