Hey everyone, new to this and I just purchased a 2013 AR192 we were on the water today when it started to have a slight skip/hesitation which then led to sudden loss of power. Anyone ever had a similar issue?
Thanks

Did the boat start back up or are you having to be towed in? If you can run how long has the gas in the tank been setting? Check the swim platform hatch to make sure it is secure, there is a kill switch underneath it and if it bouncing up and down it will kill the engine. Let us know

So this is my first Yamaha, I've had stern drives is there a temp gauge for the Yamaha? But it did start back up, the fuel has sat since the fall with stabilizers in it. Swim deck was closed and secure. I replaced the spark plugs this morning they are the stock lfr6a is it possible the gap is bad on the plugs fresh out of the box?
Thanks

I would suspect bad gas even though it was treated. The plugs are pre gapped normally so I would not think that to be the problem. Retreat the gas with the RED HEET let it sit overnight and see how she does.

Thanks for the tips I'll treat the gas and let you know.

Gas goes bad with time. 6 months sitting is long enough to ruin it. Gas has to be stabilized when it’s new. Even if you treat old gas, it will not bring it back. You just need to either drain the tank or run it dry and refill with new, ethanol free, gas.

if you use the RED HEET like I suggested it will absorb what ever separation in the tank over time. Not the yellow we had the same situation and it worked like a charm

Always, always, always check the spark plug gap before installation. Did I say always? The plugs would be the first thing I would check. Also make sure the plug wires are clipped on tight.

This is great advice. I pulled the spark plugs from my new to me boat and 3 were at .037 and 1 at .040.
all the brand new plugs were factory gapped at .037.
I had to adjust all of them into factory spec of .031-.035

I will be pulling them tomorrow and gapping them to the factory spec. Thanks for the input.

All plugs were gapped @ .032 has anyone had bad ignition coils here?
