I figured I would share this with you guys, as a co-worker put me on to it probably two years ago. There are lots of market research firms around (especially if you live in a major area) that are great sources of extra cash. Initially it can be a bit of work to find them all and sign up for them in your area, but the results can be a nice source of play money. Me and my fiance' will clear a few thousand a year, and this will go to random things such as house upgrades, and in our current case our wedding fund. This week alone we are getting $385, and have cleared almost 2k on the year so far.
The studies vary on subject and time. We often stick to opinion studies and taste testing. I am a bit weary of the medical ones, but they do pay well. Often times you sit in a group for an hour or two and discuss new ideas or products (or sometimes existing products). They often show you new ideas, or commercials and ask for your feedback. The taste tests are pretty much the same but you answer privately on a computer, and these can be as short as 15 minutes. I once was paid $250 for being a "back-up" to test kiosks for McDonalds. I didn't do a thing and was sent a $250 visa gift card. I often do a Checkers/Rallys taste test that gives me food to take home and I get $75 cash. There are tons if you put in a little groundwork. Hell I had one about Smirnoff ICE that had 4 young beautiful ladies come to my home, and give me and two friends $150 each to ask us questions. (Not including the $250 I got to record video of me going out with my friends). My favorite though was $250 to take home three bottles of whiskey. We both did that, along with most of my friends, and we had more vanilla whiskey than we knew what to do with lol.
Take it or leave it, but I figured I would least put it out there in case anyone is looking for ways to make side cash. It has been great for me, and they are often fun to do.
