Max engine rpm

So my boats starboard engine will max at about 10700 rpm.. the port will max at 10100 rpm.. in seaching I have seen the normal max rpm is between 10200 and 10300... is this a linkage issue or something else... once we r on pane I always pull back the starboard engine to about 10100 rpm is we are running that fast.. ( most of the time we cruise between 8000 and 8500)

Not enough difference for me to worry about. If they're both hitting 10,000+ then I'm happy.

When either engine drops below 10,000 that's when I start checking spark plugs.

I somewhat agree I just don't want the starboard engine to spin too high
