I don't think I am building a Wake Wedge for that thing....

Makes no sense. There is a giant jet but then twin screws underneath ? In the pic it looks like it's running on the jet only and not the props. The props would be a huge drag if they're not turning and there is no prop wash....

Very cool! The yacht runs like a conventional 2 screw but has the option to fire up the jet for ocean travel at high speed. Can you imagine the thrust from that jet washing around a marina? Lol.

Interesting. I don't see the point either. The exhaust stack looks like there is probably a jet turbine below decks for the higher speed stuff, so why not just do a fancy reduction gear setup to be able to switch between regular diesel engines for economical cruising and the jet turbine for higher speed stuff. Thats the way the ship I was stationed on did it.

After searching for the ship I found it does contain a jet turbine available for power.

Very cool ship though. Seems like a huge waste when the diesels will push it to 25 knots and the turbine only adds 5-10 more knots and burns an INSANE amount of fuel to do it.

Edit: To accomplish top speed it has to run diesels AND gas turbine.

Then I made the mistake of letting my girlfriend drive it!

The only way to justify adding the turbine is (beacause they can).

I wonder how far/much water they could shoot if everything and everyone moved to the bow :woot:

I bet it would cost a fortune to have Impro tune that impeller...

Amazing boat, bat mobile and girlfriend! :)

Barbie said is APPEARED to be a nice boat.

However, it seemed a little SMALL for her tastes !

Just a glorified jet ski! They should get a real yacht!

But a rope in that damn thing will shut it down! ;)

I heard Low speed maneuver on that thing sucks!

This has gotta be a fake and photo shopped. The jet wash looks blurry and not as it should, the picture of just the jet in the water looks funky too, especially at the water line, and the out of the water picture shows no intake at all for the jet and the "impeller" looks all sorts of weird.

That said, there are many boats that are turbine powered to run props- and maybe this is one of them...

ETA: Confirmed, this is not a water jet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecstasea

ETA: I was wrong, kinda

That is some serious horsepower onboard...

From wiki: "total combined horsepower of 43,287 hp". :jawdrop:
