I would like to mount a chartplotter on the left side of the dashboard of my 2018 Scarab 165. The fiberglass area that contains the Information Center Gauges is sealed. I am looking for advice on how to remove the gauges so that I can put nuts on the bolts need to attach the chartplotter.

The gauges have hex nuts visible from the drivers position. When I attempted to loosen a hex bolt, it did not loosen. Out of concern of breaking the nuts off, I thought I would ask others how to disassemble the dash. Are the hex bolts for decoration only or do they need to be removed to take the gauges off the dashboard?

Also, the 12-volt receptacle does not work. I am hoping that once I can get the gauges off I will be able to troubleshoot the receptacle. Maybe someone knows where the fuse is for this receptacle on a 2018 165 ID.

thanks for the help,

There is 4 large Allen head screws at the bottom of Gauges that need to be unscrewed all the way out and the whole gauge and tray comes out. Take the clear plexiglass off to get more room. The fuse panel is behind the door where the net is. Open the door and look up. it a black box.

Wow, that was exactly what I needed. I found the blown fuse and I was able to take the gauge cluster out. Thank you very much for the excellent help!

Your welcome. There is also the level under the tray on the right side that you would need to hold down if your trying to do service on the engine. By cranking it over but don’t want it to start. I think in the manual calls it drowning it. Some people do it for oil changes.
