UPDATE:
I posted in another thread about water/fluid in the engine, turns out its actually fuel in the engine b/c water got in the ECU and has caused havoc to the system, the water got there b/c my brother left the flush valve cap open (waverunner not boat) and water found its way into the ECU box, new ECU and wiring harness and 1 switch and 1 relay, about $2,000 dollars later (I bought 4 new injectors) so total of $2,600

thread here, https://jetboaters.net/threads/mr1-engine-help-cylinder-3-has-water.10138/

Moral of the story check you Environmental box first for water. I will post pics when I can.

MR-1 ECU (I have a OEM NEW ECU) during the swap, is it possible to add the hours from the old ECU to the new ECU?

I have Yamaha YDS diagnosis Software & DB 1.33v, I can view all data current old ECU data but not sure how to input new info into the new ECU.

or do I need a dealer to do add the hours?

My understanding is there is no way to write to the ECU. You will just have to note the original hours and add them to the new reported hours.

Just wanted to report back for everyone else, on these older Yamaha YDS or YDS "1" computers its not possible to add hours. the newer stuff I believe he said anything YDS 2 compliant.

I will just engrave my old hours and swap date on the plastic housing of the ECU, only 43.4 hours I don't ride it much.

Good news is I got a 0 hour 2007 FXHO anyone want to buy a rare lower hour waverunner LOL j/k

Did you have to swap out your engine? What was the matter with it, and did you do it yourself?

Cylinder 3 was filling up with fuel, massive amount of fuel its not the injectors as they are brand new as well. the engine is fine the ECU took a dump.

Its rare but its not uncommon, the ECU holds the injector open for too long.

So you used the Waverunner as a donor? Are you selling it now?

LOL, no. I don't have a donor waverunner, I only replaced the fuel injectors and ECU. I don't believe in buying an entire used craft to pull used parts off.

compression "cold" 160, 160, 155, 160. the engine is good as far as I can tell.

What issues are you having?
