My "no" issue anchor locker! (from the factory!)

Yes, you read that correctly.....I just pulled the trigger Saturday and purchased a left over 16'. I originally wanted a 17' but mine was a few $$$ below invoice plus the extended 5 year motor warranty made me plunk down on the 16'.

Now my manufacturers certificate of origin is showing a date of 12/30/2015..........so mine isn't exactly a newer version, but my locker is solid. There is no gap between the locker and hull.......it's literally solid fiberglass. In the picture it might look like a gap but it is just a mark from the hole saw they used to cut it. Before I took her out I plugged the drain from the outside.......filled her and she did not drain into the center console.......she held the water! (like she should have)

Also I thank all of you for posting your issues because I was able to look for them..........ummmm I have none of them..................ran her for 2.3 hours on Sunday and currently I only have small quibbles. The Port deck drain is slower than Starboard to drain.......but no leaks inside........you can flood the deck and nothing gets under the seats. I also hate the fact that the trailer has non-LED brake lights on a 2016 and the non ratcheting rear tie downs suck.............other than that...........all looks good.........so far!

Do you have a jagged hole inside the anchor locker?

The inside is not bad..................it's about what you should expect from a hole saw. (one small top coat flake loose but it's maybe 1/32" thick) No-where near as bad as others I have seen, but what I would expect in a boat at this price point. If you look at the attached picture realize that I was just on the Illinois river scaring the Asian Carp...(really)...I also anchored up several times and if you have ever been on the Illinois river it is muddy down bottom........so the dirt you see is from my first trip out and so the locker in the picture of course looks way worse because of the dirt. I did dry towel off the area for the picture around the drain. You can see how the fitting doesn't go all the way thru because this is the fitting they used.............it's more of a cover plate for the hull. However I do not have a gap like many others and my locker will hold water if plugged from the outside. I "DID" buy a new thru hull fitting with both male and female ends ($6) and I will 3M/5200 it in place. If I had a complaint about the locker it's that the drain is not at the very bottom causing it not to drain 100% and thus leaving dirt behind.......then again if they used a thru hull fitting with both male and female ends......even if it was at the bottom the female end would be sticking up and it would still hold the very last little bit of water.

I know you have had bad luck with your FSH and it's because of people like you that I knew of the possible problems with mine. This made it really easy to go over my FSH. I felt like I already knew what to look for. I simply haven't had issues......yet........

It's actually not solid. What you're seeing is that on yours, Yamaha actually put enough sealant in that area when they set the deck on to the hull that the sealant filled the gap. Therefore, no gap hole when they drilled for the drain.

Either way, it's sealed so you are one step ahead of the game. Congrats on your purchase and have fun!

It's hard to tell if it's sealant or a block glued in to create a sandwich where they drill out the drain. It's definitely not sealed after the hole is drilled. You can see the hole saw marks on all 3 layers. It's not a visible from the angle shown in the picture I posted. All in all I am happy!
