Need a little advice on batteries and trolling motor choice

Hi folks, i know this is an old thread but i'm going through the same debate as I look to pickup my 2016 fsh 190. I'll be getting a motorguide xi3 or xi5 with gps. With my 190, i'm wondering if I can get by with a 12v 55lb thrust, or if i'll need the 80lb 24v setup. If i go 12v i'll run a lithium battery (Dakota LiPO 54ah), with 24v i'll go Walmart lead as i can't justify the price for 2 high capacity lithiums. I only run MN lakes, nothing remotely as challenging or high current as you offshore guys.

I have a 60". comes out of the water a bit with rough seas. Honestly though, 210 FSH rocks too much in those waves to enjoy fishing. Unless you are a glutton for punishment, I would just stick with the 60"
