Hi to everyone again.

My mission to find a 2020 SX 190 has failed.

My hunt for one I found a 2014 with 136hrs. Owner is asking 19K
Is that right for 6yr old boat. The 2020 I was looking at would of been ~35k OTD.

I'm giving up new for used but saving almost half. Its mostly used for Miami waters and no more than 4 usually to 7 max. Thats only to go from ramp to sand bar.

I am leaning towards the 19 because of being able to keep iboat n garage and not having to change tow vehicle.
I could probably get away with a 210 but towing long distance with a 6cyl TJ on 31" would be difficult.

I have option to look at 2013 210 for 25K. I like/rather having the 1800 cc vs the 1100cc engine but its has two? Plus I am familiar with the 1100cc vs the new 3cyl MR engines?

Thoughts, Opinions.

Thanks again

I would suggest looking at both. When buying pre owned there are puts and takes, generally no two are in the same condition, or have the same maintenance records.

If the 210 does not fit in your garage, that could be the deciding factor to stick with the 190s.

I’m looking as well but not in a hurry to buy since it seems that due to Covid-19 boating became a great solution to “save the Summer” and boat sales deals are not happening. $35K OTD for a 2020 SX190 seems too high, it should be around $33K even with some dealer prep fee. I’m not sure about used prices on Yamaha’s. Also, several improvements were made on 19 ft Yamaha’s recently, the newer the better. I’m trying to stay under $35K as well OTD but looking for AR190 unless a really good deal comes along for a SX190 and I would not hesitate since my boys will basically be tubing more than anything else. Good luck on your search!!

My deal was boat was 31500 plus 7%tax and other fees came out to ~34500, but it never materialized as there were trouble source boat in first place.

That was everyone else's idea this year.
I was a week late to jump on one. There are no more 2020 than whats on the lot or your traveling out of state for new right now.

I'd like to hold on to any dead presidents but selection of new is nill until next year. I could wait and get 2021 but Ill be back to 30+K.
19K sounds better to be a sandbar hoper in Miami or when I trailer West to Marco Island/Ft Myers or hit Key Largo to Marathon.

I tried to buy a dealer used but they were no discount and APR would be 8%. I said no way, Ill wait.

I could do a new SX 210 but 43K for 15yrs to get payment I want, I feel I'm hanging myself.

Buying used is the kicker and leap of faith. I have had serval Yamaha skis so I know what to look for but its always a gamble.

I have a lead for a 2008 sx 240 for 20k(payoff) if anyone interested. Boat still have payments as ex wife got stuck with it.

Heading out tomorrow to inspect SX.

I can't find accurate compression numbers for the NA 1.8.
Some say 160 but others say that is minimum standard. It should be closer to 200 I found

Anyone have exact number I should be seeing.

If it idles and gets on plane with top speed of 40mph on app and not dream meter, engine must be good.
Would want to be sure engine healthy on all 4 cylinders.

Sorry, yes details on the SX240. That's a good looking 210 though.

Hi

Sent you info. I think I don't have PM privileges yet, so info is posted on your home page under conversations.
LMK how it goes.
