The hole is 1.75" but I can cut the hole to make the Ritchie TR-35 listed above to fit. any objections or better solutions. I pulled the old compass out. Completely dry. Weird thing is one side of it is clear and the other is what you saw in the pic
I'm not sure how well that dash material cuts without tearing the outermost covering. But, if the compass has a large base that is bigger than the hole you'll likely have no issues.
So I called the company and they sent me a new compass that worked perfectly at no cost to me. I thought that was great since I bought it from someone on eBay. Ritchiecompass didn't ask any questions, just apologized for the faulty equipment and sent out the new compass. Great customer service!
