So it's time to replace it. Definitely at least plan on changing color from grey to black sunbrella.
I see some threads recommend taking to local fabric shops for cheaper.
Who else sell them custom made for this boat?

I'd really like to do some type of retro to make mine look like the newer 242 that is bigger and sweeps up at back. Anyone know if this can be done reasonably.

i'm sure a lot of people who have older limited S' would like to have it done as well as their Bimini would be showing age...you should see if the vendor can give you a deal on a group buy? )

I don't have a vendor....
That's what I need!

Where are you located? I had one made locally in Philly for $570. Just bring your original as a template.

I dropped it by upholstery shop yesterday.
Was just hoping someone might tell me great news and there was a retro to the new type,
They look great.

Thanks for the replies all.
I'm in Oklahoma on Lake Eufaula.

You can get an original through Partzilla.com if needed.

I just had mine made in the heaviest black Sunbrella they make, Kevlar threading for longevity and added zippers so it will come off without taking the frame off. $533 in total. It will certainly last a lot longer than the OEM kind. My OEM had two seasons on it (boat was 5 years old, kept indoors with 7.6 hours on it when I got it) & it looked like crap.

Hey @piney1 do you think they would have any interest in making a duplicate? I would totally pay that plus shipping.

Sure, he has the template. I'll PM you his name and number.

You're the man!

Pic from the porch.

Do you tow with Bimini deployed? If so, how fast, how frequent. My typical tow from ramp to storage is 5 miles at >50mph. Getting tired of stowing and deploying bimini. Considering leaving her up for the tow.

Thoughts?

Yes but I keep it under 45. There is a boat ramp about 250 yards from my driveway so I only tow to get fuel. The fuel place is about 4 miles and most of it is it 35 or 30 but there's a stretch that is 45. If I were going on a trip I would definitely stow it. This was made with extra zippers so it comes off a little effort.

Before I had this made I was seriously looking for somebody that could make me a larger top that would mount on a frame and then attach to the arch. There is one member here who had one of this type made in Texas but I wasn't able to figure out a way to make it work.

If you can help me find that Texas thread(name or something to search), I'd love to look at what they created.
