I have not seen this posted yet. If anyone is interested in details of the new 2024 1.9L engines. You should check this video out.

NO mention of what yamaha replaced the rod bearings with ... that they have gotten rid of lead ... people think this is a small thing but its not

Lead is a very good bearing material despite its bad reputation of being "toxic" it has natural lubrication and protection properties that are a large part in reason for the 1.8s longevity success rate IMO ... the only other material i could see them using if they are no longer using Lead is copper , but that is more of an automotive style bearing that may not do well in a marine enviornment due to constant high rpm and possible corrosion.. I would love to know what material they have switched to..
 
This video is almost two hours long. Can someone please give me the cliffs notes?
