So I just purchased a 2013 242 limited S and it didn't come with a Bimini top. I saw the top on the newer 2018 models and they are very stealthy and seem more solid then the previous year models. Does anyone know if theres any upgrade to the new design or if there is a hard top option for the tower? Just looking for different options before pulling the trigger.

Any advice would be kindly appreciated.

The owners of new 242's may have a different take, but the towers and set up on our 2013's are completely different. Our towers sweep forward much more than newer models and the wake tow position is a couple feet further forward. The newer connection comes out of the middle of the bimini. Complete OEM bimini sets are still available online from Babbitt's, etc. Expensive, but much less so than trying to put a later version on a 2013 model, if you could even figure out a way to mount it. Oh, and our bimini is larger than the newer model providing more shade. I like our version.

AZ, We pretty much have the same exact boat! I believe the previous owner found the old top but it might need to be reupholstered. We shall see. I would love to make it black to match the rest of the boat.
