Wife and I are shopping for our first boat and have narrowed it down to a 19’ Yamaha. (Probably a SX190 or a 195)

I wanted to wait until we found a lake house but we have been looking for a couple years now with no luck. We are tired of waiting so this is the Season we pull the trigger on our first boat.

Looks like these Yamahas hold their value as used prices are still mid $20s so we are leaning towards new. I know it’s probably a better decision to go used for our first but we plan on keeping this for a few years.

Looking forward to learning more about Jetboating from you guys and being able to make an educated decision on our new toy.

We are in boat show season here in New England so we hope to find a killah deal.

Any NE dealer recommendations are appreciated.

Good luck with finding what works for your family. We are new boaters and went with a new 2019 sx190 in september, very happy with our decision so far! Although, longing for temps in 80's all winter....

glad to have you on board, make sure to get a test ride before you buy, used or new, just to understand what your you're buying,

Welcome aboard.....used is not a bad thing...especially if it is your first boat! If, for some reason, you found out boating was not your thing you could get out of it without losing a lot, if any value. My first was a 10 year old boat....great price, kept it for 20 years and loved it. Finally decided on a new Yamaha....the old boat was still doing fine...just wanted something newer, and wanted to go propless! This forum is a great place to learn about all aspects!

Welcome. There is an absolute ton of info on this site as well as, I would say the greatest concentration of knowledgeable jetboaters out there. From scarab, sea doo, chaparral, yamaha, you name it. So research the site and if you don't find what you're looking for, just ask. I'm sure you'll get a dozen people to answer. List your location so others can help direct you and if they're near, they can help or boat with you.

No doubt, but it’s going to be a while for that up here in MA. I should probably not look for deals now because I usually find them.

We are not opposed to used for the right boat. My wife is all about propless after the Boston boat show earlier this month.

I’ve been lurking here for a while now. :winkingthumbsup"

Some of the biggest advantages I have found with my Yamaha over my Four Winns is ability to go in much shallower water; safety of no prop; very simple routine maintenance; and not alot to go wrong compared to other types of boats!

Welcome and you will not go wrong with the SX190. We were going to go used but to us it didn’t make sense as the difference money wise wasn’t enough so we went with the 2019.

That’s what I’m finding out around here too. Only a few grand difference between new and used.
Love that color too!

That thing looks like its going 100mph just sitting there.

Good luck in your search. You will love Yamaha.
You can’t go wrong with the SX190, but if you can find a 21’ it would be worth a look.
There is a good dealer just over the line in Central Falls RI and another in Windsor CT - both are very helpful.

:winkingthumbsup" Twin City will be at the Worcester show next weekend. Heard great things.

New to this forum today. I purchased a 2018 AR190 last fall from Twin City and will be picking it up in April. They are great to deal with and have a great reputation. Good luck!

Worcester Mass haa I was born there and lived in Webster on lake chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg 1552185770693.jpeg

Nice!
That’s the lake we are looking to buy on.

Cool back many years ago like 1969 I raced stock cars on the lake we had an ice racing association, racing cars and motorcycles on the ice. The E P A would have a coronary now if this was still going on today, lol, the Mohegan lanes was one of my sponsors .

Well, it’s been exactly a year since my first post and we finally have our lake house.

We met Rudy from Twin City at the Boston boat show a couple weeks back and put a deposit down on our 2020 SX190 with the WakeBooster kit.

Looking into boards and towables now.
Thanks in advance to helping us spend more of our money!

Great news. Congrats!!! Nice boat. I had the same model. Loved it!

Get ready to spend a little more $$ with some awesome mods to help make boating more fun. You're gonna love it.

What part of Mass are you? I have family up there.
