New lift- transom’s hanging over?

Just got a place with an existing lift. The rear width on the bunk’s center to center I made 48 inches and around 46 inches front. I had to pull the transome back off the end of the bunks so the front keel didn’t bottom on my lift bar.

I can move the bunks closer and lift the boat higher to move it in more. Is the transoms hanging off too far and is that bad for the boat?

The boat is heavier at the rear, so I would try to move it in more. The guy who installed my lift suggested to pluck the cables like a guitar string and you can hear if they sound similar to spread the load evenly. I had mine too far back too.

I agree. Your boat is too far aft. The bow is not on the bunks.
I actually weighed and calculated the CG of my boat by measuring the frequency of the cables. I placed the CG of the boat in the middle of the cables.
