New Scarab Owner - Recommendations On Stereo/Battery

Hello I am a proud owner of my first boat, a new 2014 Scarab 195. I will admit I know nothing about boats. I want to add a stereo system... For starters, a second battery and learned from the how-to from another Scarab owner on this forum but unsure of what Optima Bluetop to get as a battery exclusively for the music on a switch. Also if I'm installing a 10" sub an ideal location from someone who is familiar with Scarabs. I am familiar with audio equipment having had plenty of systems when I was younger but it's been years so need some advice/suggestions to enjoy my new boat.

@Richspeed11 The dual use bluetop will be great for some tunes. You may want to add a 1 farad capacitor if your going to go big so your lights dont fliker when your jamming with the engine off. It will also help your amps work better.

Also, if your boat has the Kicker system, it will bring 3 amps and a 10" sub already. You can get a bigger amps for the system, and change out the speakers if the Kickers aren't loud enough.

@ScarabMike - So for instance an Optima BlueTop D31M should do the trick? Furthermore I have the base 195 which is just factory equipped with the deck and 4 speakers only. I am just curious if I had a 10" sub or two of an ideal placement. I don't even know where the placement is on the one with the upgraded sound system.

@Richspeed11 Should be ok with the D31M. I think Scarab's placement of the 10" sub is spot on. Its on the passenger rear side. You can see it in this picture. Make sure its an open air marine sub.
