Hiya, new member here. Recently picked a 1993/4 Bayliner Jazz 90hp to have some fun on the lake up here in Nova Scotia, Canada. If I can get it working properly anyway.

First jet boat, first 2 stroke, and actually first powerboat (I'm a sailor at heart but this little lake is too shallow). Few things to sort out, it's running like junk (no power, lots of pale blue/white smoke), and the "neutral" setting on the throttle causes the throttle to jam up which is interesting to say the least.

I see there are some known issues with these old motors so lots of reading to do around that, and I guess I need to figure out draining the fuel and tuning the carbs as a first step, I'm a girl who likes to get her hands dirty though so should be fun!

Look forward to learning and seeing neat jet boaty stuff

Paula

Your boat has a 90 hp force 3 cylinder engine that was originally built for outboards and converted to go on a jet pump it has many issues I had a 90 hp just like it and I posted many issues and resolution's for those issues the bad thing is parts are very difficult to locate now . do a search on here regarding force or mercury 90 hp problems they called them mercury here are a few posts Search results for query: force 90 hp engine issues

Thanks, sounds like the rectifier going bad and letting the electronics eat themselves is an issue, with a fairly easy prevention with a relay while it's still working. I'll have a look and see if I can figure out where it all needs to go, electrical stuff was never really my thing.
