New to Yamaha!

I am new to jets as well... the largest thing I have learned when docking or loading in windy conditions....... take down the Bimini top... these boats will get pushed around by the wind anyway.. iF it is windy I learned to drop the top or else it works like a sail on a sail boat.

Looks like everyone has you covered on "practice" and going slow. Just remember, if you aren't using thrust, your not steering! Here is a checklist to help establish good habit patterns and set a routine. You can alter it in word to suit your own situation. Congrats on that sharp looking boat and welcome to the best source of info on your boat...JETBOATERS.NET!

forgot the checklist! I need to add an item to the checklist to remember the checklist! I added it to the above post.

Nice looking boat and welcome aboard!

Maiden voyage tomorrow. Thanks for all the great advice. I will check in and let you all know how it went. I'm excited!

I also just entered the Jetboat world from a sterndrive. Though I've only had mine out once it was surprisingly easy to get used to. I did a lot of research on maneuvering a jetboat but with the rudder on our new 24 footers I believe it will be much easier for those of us with no experience to get the hang of things. Check out youtube videos by boattest, Randy Vance, he does a maneuverability video that is very informative. save it on your phone and play it as you play on the water. Good Luck

Just got off the water. Had a minor issue with the port engine. Called the dealership and turned out the battery needed to be reset after running for a bit. I have to say, this baby handles like a champ. I'm super ecstatic. Can't wait to get back out on Friday! I love it!
