Wow, 500hp, 9 foot wide. Is this thing legally trailerable at 9ft wide?

Anything over 8'6" you're supposed to get a permit.
NJ was 8' for years and people towed their 8'6" boats with no hassles...

That’s what I thought. I thought it was a DOT rule, anything over 8’6”. I welded up my own 18’ long dual axle deck-over trailer a couple years ago and I made sure I fabricated it just under that width for that reason. All the laws I researched before building it said just that. Don’t you need signs on it as well saying “oversized load” or something?

At 6:30 it looks like they are in high No Wake, or No Wake plus a little, and the water is washing up over the back of the deck while they are in motion. Looks like that could be a wet ride at slow speeds without that little door insert thing in there.
